Wallace Thornhill (1942-2023) was a luminary in the “electric universe” community. Over the course of twenty years, I have followed his Thunderbolts Project team and have read most of the books and DVDS offered. I continue to enjoy listening to their YouTube presentations. In many respects, they are easier to understand than McCanney. But in my opinion, McCanney is still the “gold standard” in plasma physics.
Thornhill pursued his scientific theories with enthusiasm, grace, and professionalism. His presentations were polished and non-confrontational – a true statesman of the electric universe cause who will be missed.

This group also has done a full range of analysis of the science pertaining to a solar nova, crustal displacement, geomagnetic reversal, et al. I will probably be featuring this group as soon as they have a book to offer.
(Yes, I know, their logo is the Eye of Horus. It’s unfortunate but I don’t think there is anything sinister intended.)
Why don’t I feature the Thunderbolts group on this website?
Four reasons, I suppose:
1) Their work does not have direct bearing on the 2046AD scenario. Their relevant theories are adequately distilled through Ben Davidson and James McCanney featured on this site.
2) The influence of the CIA in the “electric universe” community is pervasive. Plasma physics – or sometimes memorialized as “Tesla physics” in honor of the genius, but at times unhinged founder of our electrical age, Nikola Tesla – is tied closely to “new age” technology used by the military. It is a matter of national security. Obstructionism and misdirection when needed can only occur if the CIA has a “controlled” movement. McCanney cannot be controlled. That is why he has been marginalized by other more “popular” figureheads.
I am not saying that electric universe theorists work for the CIA. The CIA is a kingmaker in our society. One department will create a movement by profiling and promoting certain individuals they think they can influence. Another department will create an opposite and rival movement in the same manner. University students and professors are hunting grounds for these kingmakers and the internet has made their job much easier.
This is a balance-of-power gambit based on the Hegelian dialectic practiced by the elite for centuries.
In contrast, the safety of a free society with a republican form of government is secured by the general dissemination of knowledge, including scientific knowledge. Industry can only be successful if the public is educated in sound scientific principles. The concentration of knowledge creates the concentration of power and diminishes the wealth and general success of a nation.
Also, sound governance relies upon an informed electorate. The fall of such a society begins with the practice of lying: a violation of the Ten Commandments. When the government finds it necessary to lie to the public to maintain power, it is a testimony that it is already in decline.
3) This will require a future article, perhaps a Pesher, but Saturnalian cosmology is too strong in the electric universe movement. It embraces a cosmology which is built upon legends of a supposed ancient and advanced civilization of the “gods” whose origin is from the moon-system of Saturn. It is claimed that Earth was a part of this system with Saturn being its primordial Sun. This has long been a teaching of various occult movements.
While it did not find its way into my book The Seed of Cain & the Revival of Mystic Humanism, my original research of occult movements, which involved interviews and discussions with several practicing “occultists” circa. 1980, they claimed that the Old Testament gods, such as Baal, were extraterrestrials from the Saturn (Kronos) system. Occultists claim their psychic perceptions and rituals are efforts for communication with these beings.
I find any movement dubious which relies upon hallucinogenic drugs. It shouldn’t surprise us that the modern belief in ETs has grown from a Baby-boom generation tripping on LSD. While electric universe theorists are true scientific thinkers, ancient mythology was based upon shamanism. Critical discernment is necessary.
Popular writers, such as Steve Quail, and even James McCanney, have dabbled in this cosmology. But it is front and center in the electric universe crowd and is not a cosmology with which I agree.
4) As a Trinitarian and a Christian Druid, I do not believe that the universe operates exclusively according to polarities. The doctrine of polarities is the Luciferian doctrine promoted by the secret societies. In science, I believe that gravity represents the third principle. I reject Thornhill’s insistence that gravity is itself representative of an electrical phenomenon. That is why I appreciate the Newtonianism of Donald Patten – and especially McCanney, who has, at least in terms of physics, been able to integrate di-electrical concepts with gravity into a unified system.
Regardless, Thornhill’s thoughtful contributions to the great questions of science and cosmology will be missed.
