In the Year of our Lord (AD), 2028 . . . And Charlie, 31

[I]n the kingdom of Christ there shall be evil and filthy days, in which however we shall be saved. (Epistle of Barnabas 7:8, an early Christian writing on the Millennium)

Readers will appreciate our belief that the birth of Christ did not occur on December 25th, but rather September 11th, 3 BC. It might have been 4 BC as there is no such thing as a “year Zero.” We have discussed the particulars elsewhere.

December 25th celebrates the weaning ceremony of the Messiah which recognizes His place in the royal succession, as testified by the “Kings of the East” which came to do Him homage.

To the Americans, September 11th refers to the dramatic terrorist attack on 9/11/2001 in which the World Trade Center, the Pentagon, etc. were either destroyed or damaged in a great loss of life. It might be a useful exercise for scholars to examine that date for other notable historical events.

This year in America, although not happening exactly on 9/11, we have been traumatized by the brutal murder in cold blood of an innocent Ukrainian refugee girl. In a brazenly (and cowardly) racist attack by a black man on this young white woman (petite and beautiful), it demonstrates how a false Christian ethic of guilt and pity has corrupted American jurisprudence. Her murderer was a multiple offender let out on the streets by an equally culpable judge.

Following up on this was the murder of a handsome and capable defender of traditional values, Charlie Kirk, by a gunman – still at large as of this writing since he used a long-range rifle and was able to get away – who obviously wanted to silence him through assassination. A popular social influencer especially among the young people, the emotional impact and loss are only just now being felt. It bears the same shock – in kind although not in degree – as the assassination of John F. Kennedy. It will have the intended effect in the future of intimidating any social influencers like him who now must “look over their shoulders” to see if they are the next target.

As cited above, the apostolic leader, Barnabas – the benefactor and companion of Paul – taught that the Christian Millennium is not some rosy, tranquil period but rather a period of conquest in which the rule of Christ is meted out “with the rod of iron.” (Revelation 12:5). Its beginning is not pretty.

The beneficence of Christ’s reign can only felt after it has begun. It begins when His vicegerents upon the Earth learn that it is they who must exercise dominion and enforce “the king’s peace.” Pietistic Christianity has taught its adherents to wait for the “sweet bye and bye.” That abdication has given leave for evil men to multiply.

It is time to learn what it really means to be “peacemakers.” It is not to “turn the other cheek” – a teaching with a different purpose – but rather to enforce a program of the pacification of the nations and submitting them to the rule and reign of Jesus Christ (Psalm 2).

There is no other alternative.

For the Day,

JWS, 9/11/25
