Isaac Newton died on March 31st, 1727 – three hundred years ago. “Saints” are not remembered for the day of their births, but for the day of their deaths. Called a “natal day” in Christian hagiography, the death of a saint is his “birthday” into heaven.
Evangelicals fail to recognize Newton’s contributions to Christian doctrine because they not only misunderstand his theology, they do not have a competent grasp of their own.
