As far back as our records go, there has been no “end of the world” prediction that has come true. Obviously, we are still here.
This website provides information which indicates that there is a 1 in 3 chance the world will experience a solar nova/magnetic reversal/ice age event by 2046AD which will cause a general extinction of life on Earth.
As convincing as the evidence might be supporting the catastrophe predicted for the year 2046AD – scientific, biblical or otherwise – it is more likely than not that 2046 will come and go without incident.
However, a risk assessment is justified.
In some parts of the United States, tornadoes are an annual occurrence. In such places, it is prudent to have a basement or storm shelter. It is also prudent to shelter yourself when a tornado warning has been issued by the weather service. Playing golf, shopping, site seeing are not a good idea during such warnings because tornadoes can be deadly.
When the conditions are right for the formation of a tornado, the weather service will issue a tornado “watch.” If a tornado has actually formed and has been sighted, a watch becomes a “warning.” It is a good idea not to wait for a warning to be issued before building your storm shelter.
Likewise with the scenario described on this website, conditions are right for a nova/reversal/ice age to occur. We might call it a “nova watch.” We think now is the right time to make preparations. You might never need them. It is entirely possible that you may live your entire life without a global-scale catastrophe occurring, just like someone who lives in Wichita, Kansas, may never see a tornado. But if something of this magnitude should occur, it takes far more than two or three years to prepare for it.
We don’t want you to panic. We don’t want you to not live your life. Day-to-day challenges need and deserve your immediate attention.
But, we also think you should assess the condition of our civilization. What should we change to make it worthy of survival?
And to what end would you and your descendants want to survive?
Those kinds of questions are deserving of your consideration because they have to do with why we are here and to whom we are accountable. The moral imperatives of our existence should be our first priority.
After that, you will need more. You need input on what kind of technology is necessary for survival. A new Post category will be created in the coming weeks which will speak directly to that question. In addition to the general Uncategorized posts and “The Remains of the Day” posts, the new category will be called: Survival Praxis.
Be watching for it.
