The convoluted games played by our intelligence agencies are difficult if not impossible to track, even by officers within their agencies. The “whys” and “wherefores” cannot be answered. Mr. Thomas’ presentation must be evaluated on its own merits and compared to what we know to be true otherwise. In my mind, it neither lends credence to its content, nor discredits it, the fact that the CIA classified it and then de-classified a redacted version of the document. But obviously, it rattled someone once upon a time.
