It is with true sorrow that I must report that Douglas Vogt is now deceased. Evidently, his son, David, texted a few close individuals of his passing, but without details. I found out about it from Ben Davidson’s report on his Suspicious Observers YouTube Channel. You can watch it here:
Readers will recall that Vogt suffered a spinal/neck injury from a fall which resulted in sometimes slurred speech toward the end of his lectures. He elected to undergo a surgery to repair the damage. Evidently, there must have been complications during recovery, but I will wait on a full report after we learn more.
I will offer a eulogy in a “Remains of the Day” posting this weekend, but I thought that readers should know right away, in case there are YouTube lectures you might want to download – not knowing if anyone will continue to maintain the channel.
I have no doubt that all his works will now become instant classics and perhaps harder to obtain. With all due respects to Ben Davidson and his constellation of scholars which support the Suspicious Observers community, in my opinion, Douglas Vogt stands alone at the head of the movement in the science and politics of solar nova catastrophism. May he rest in peace.
