St. David’s, Patron of Ancient Wales

March 1st is recognized as St. David’s Day. St. David’s is to Wales as St. Patrick’s is to Ireland. And odd as it sounds, St. Patrick, too, was a Welshman and was the first missionary to Ireland.

The Cambrian Church diaspora celebrates the day to remember our heritage in the ancient church of the aboriginal Britons. The saints canonized by Rome have been “Latinized” to absorb the non-conformists, but it should be remembered that 6th Century Britain was catholic – little “c” – and maintained a separate identity from Rome yet for several centuries.

A piece from our old website with more will be posted in the morn.

God bless you.
