Update for August, 2026

Pants on Fire

We live in the Inland Northwest. Our core city is Spokane, Washington. Spokane is on fire. Tinder and high winds have made what would otherwise be a prairie fire into a conflagration for the city dwellers. The flames are leaping from tree-to-tree and burning down houses. So far, no deaths have been recorded.

The Weather Service said it was coming. Next door in the Idaho Panhandle, we sit in the middle of forests and wheat fields. They are ripe and dry. We are ok, but we are watchful.

These predictions have a way of coming to pass, don’t they?

Pyrophiliacs would be disappointed, otherwise. Maybe, they might want to help things along. “We don’t want to embarrass the Weather Service with another false alarm, now do we?” “Maybe a little dry lightning from the sky or God’s Rod of Judgment.

Weather modification is a real thing. It even exists in Idaho’s statutory code, probably in your state, too.

The Rumors of Wars

Posts to this website have been sparse. We are busy. The Sun is quiet and you haven’t read much on this website, anyway. So, please review.

As for the Iranian conflict, I have written Cambrian Peshers that have bearing on this question. I was reticent at first, not wanting to appear un-American. But “jeepers-creepers”: look at the anti-war crazies out there. My stuff is mild in comparison.

As for the Russian invasion of Ukraine, at first I was influenced by Russian war propaganda. But believing in a different history of Ukraine than does Mr. Putin, I ended with the conclusion that it is a war of aggression to maintain the neo-Russian Empire. It represents the centuries-long conflict between the Red Russians (Muscovites) and the White Russians (Kyivites).

Publishing Schedule

The next Remains of the Day will be on “Heritage Christianity” and a tribute to Jonathan David Brown. Credited as the founder of the Lunar Sabbath doctrine, it will be followed by a Cambrian Pesher for St. Aidan’s Day on that topic at the end of August.

Be watching for them.
