Ben Davidson reports just this morning for the Suspicious Observers (April 22) that the Sun has exploded with an Earth-directed Coronal Mass Ejection (CME). You can watch his short YouTube report here:
It is an M-Class Emission which is not expected to be anything serious.
Except . . .
This will be a good time to monitor its impact on Earth’s weakening electromagnetic shields. As reported elsewhere on this website, Earth’s electromagnetic fields (sometimes called the Van Allen Belts) have been weakening at a rapid pace in recent decades. The bow-shock effect of solar storms has been pushing these shields ever closer to Earth’s surface, allowing in dangerous levels of cosmic radiation.
This most recent storm is expected to arrive late tomorrow (Sunday, the 23rd) or early Monday. If it produces electromagnetic storms in Earth’s atmosphere, disruption in communications, or exceptional weather and seismic activity, it will be a good indication that we are well on our way to a possible Carrington-level event in this solar cycle.
I will update this post on Monday or Tuesday with a survey of the results.
Stay tuned.
JWS, 4/22/23
Update 4/26/23: Well, it surprised everybody and resulted in a Level 4 storm. Out of a scale of 1 to 5, with 5 being the worst classification reserved for Carrington-level events, it slammed us at night for the Western Hemisphere. Impressive auroras, earthquakes in the South Pacific, renewed volcanic activity and interrupted radio communication – the added atmospheric energy has intensified storms over the United States with the increasingly common telluric bolt-lightning (Earth to sky). More electrical fires, too.
Telluric lightning cannot occur from human geoengineering. So, for those of you who think that is what is happening here, go ahead and stick pins in your voodoo doll.
